OK – today was FN hot. This is more like i was expecting. The marathon stage [42.2km] started a bit late, a land rover was stuck in a sand dune in the middle of the course, but even at 8:30 am, I knew it was going to be a hard one. Most people were in good spirits though as this is the last real hard one. Not like the beginning of the long stage where we were all scared $%^less.

Today though, if we weren’t running in sand dunes, we were running over flat fields of black rock. And everything was so hot. No wind, and if you stopped, the sun was actually PAINFUL on any exposed skin. But the dunes were fun to run in, especially down the back side of them.

But the stage is over and I basically survived. My feet are looking pretty nasty [not to mention the smell] but over all the body held out – the only big problem i had was i thru my back out twice from being hunched over in those Berber tents!

THX all for following my little run in the sand – It has been FUN!
